MAKING AN ATIPP REQUEST
The Access to Information and Protection of Privacy Act (ATIPPA) is a provincial law that governs provincial public sector organizations such as the NL Centre for Health Information. The ATIPPA promotes accountability and transparency in the public sector by allowing individuals to access information in the custody or control of the Centre and other public bodies. It also prevents the unauthorized collection, use, or disclosure of personal information by the Centre and other public bodies.
ATIPPA is not meant to replace existing methods of obtaining information. Before making a request under ATIPPA, you may try informally to obtain the information you are seeking. General inquiries for the Centre may be made via email, telephone (709-752-6000), or letter mail. The Centre always encourages the informal release of information.
Should you wish to make a request for information under ATIPPA you may use the provincial ATIPP Application Form. Requests may be made via email, phone or letter mail.
If you require more information or would like to make an inquiry, please contact the Centre’s ATIPP Coordinator:
