In addition to providing access to health information through the electronic health record and other eHealth systems, the Centre also discloses information in response to specific requests. These requests are made for a variety of purposes, including clinical program management, health system management, public health, research, and quality assurance.

Information provided by the Centre can generally be classified as one of two types: aggregate or record-level. Aggregate information, such as counts and percentages, poses little risk to individual privacy and is readily available. Record-level information poses a greater risk to individual privacy and demands greater due diligence before it is disclosed.
