The Centre is committed to ensuring our competitive procurement opportunities and our relationship with our vendors is open, competitive, fair and transparent and is in line with the principles the Public Procurement Act, government legislation, and the sourcing and procurement policies approved by Shared Service Supply Chain Department (SS-SCD).

Interested in doing business with the Centre?

  • The Centre issues open calls for goods and services in compliance with the Public Procurement Act (PPA).
  • Open calls will be awarded as defined in the posted documents and based on a total analysis of the bids submitted. This analysis may include price, quality and suitability of product or service in reference to the Centre’s specifications, vendor performance, delivery commitment, and other aspects as deemed appropriate.
  • These documents will be posted on Central Health’s website.

Provincial Health Shared Service Supply Chain

On July 20th 2017, the Health and Community Services Minister announced a Shared Services Model for Supply Chain for the province’s four Regional Health Authorities (RHAs) and the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Health Information (NLCHI).  Please read the media release.  

Under the new shared services model, Central Health is the lead in order to provide a provincial service for supply chain on behalf of the other RHAs and NLCHI. In accordance with the Public Procurement Act, Delegations of Purchasing Authorities have been signed and all commodities being sourced and undergoing contract: creation, renewal, extension, or termination has been delegated to Central Health's Provincial Health Shared Services Supply Chain Department. They will source on behalf of the other four Health Organizations for all commodities.

Effective October 21, 2019, the commodities will continue to be ordered by the Health Organizations under the contract terms established. All provincial open call activities for the four RHAs and NLCHI will be consolidated under Central Health’s website.
