The objectives of this seminar were:
- To inform a wide range of health care personnel, including particularly the decision makers, of the nature of record linkage and of its potential for both patient and health care system, and
- To produce practical recommendations and principles relating to record to record linkage, primarily for Newfoundland, but which could also be capable of application to the wider Canadian context.
